Some very exciting news!
These posts about the Modern Heroes Project caught the eye of Matt Reese, owner of the Road 2 California and Road 2 Virginia Quilt Shows. He asked if he could exhibit the collection of Modern Day Heroes quilts at his 2 shows in 2026. I explained that due to the nature of these quilts, as soon as we complete them, we get them to the heroes.
But then I had an idea. What if . . . what if we made a duplicate of each of the hero quilts? They could be shown at these two quilt shows, and then the quilts could be auctioned for a charitable cause after the exhibits. Money collected from these auctions will be donated to World Central Kitchen. Let's do what we can to help in efforts to address hunger in these critical days. Quilt makers, I am so grateful for your energy and spirit. Together we have this new opportunity to make a difference! The collection was already exhibited at Road 2 California in January.
Come to Road 2 Virginia in Richmond June 25 - 27, 2026, to see the quilts exhibited there. Information will be provided here when available on how to bid on the auctions.
